Nomadbase is hosting a digital nomad meet-up in Cape Town, South Africa, in November 2022. The event could draw around 300 participants, making it the largest gathering of location independent professionals ever held in Africa.

Nomadbase Live Africa, running Nov. 7-13 at the President Hotel in Bantry Bay, will feature over 20 keynote presentations and interactive workshops on topics important to the digital nomad community, including:

  • The best tools and tactics for remote work
  • Business and networking growth advice
  • Social and relationship tips
  • Physical, mental and spiritual health advice

Scheduled speakers include Nomadbase founder Johannes Voelkner, guitarist and “passionpreneur” Tobias Rauscher, tech expert Tony Ventura, sleep specialist Lina-Maria Schön, entrepreneur Marcel Wijermars and workplace spirituality consultant Nanni Schleicher.

For participants hoping to explore more of Africa, Nomadbase is also hosting 11-day safaris before and after the conference. The excursions will include river cruises, jeep rides and visits to the region’s stunning national parks.

Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Nestled on a peninsula beneath Table Mountain, it offers a blend of magnificent scenery, cultural diversity and captivating adventures.

In July, Airbnb named Cape Town one of the 20 most digital nomad-friendly cities in the world. The rental platform also entered into a partnership with the city’s tourism officials to build a one-stop booking and information hub to attract remote workers.

Earlier this year, South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa announced plans to launch a digital nomad visa that allows remote workers to live and work in the country long-term.

Officials hope the initiative will improve the country’s economy and help its tourism sector recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
